Bioscreen Tests and Treatment Protocols
Test samples from overseas are now welcome!
Associate Professor Tim Roberts has been researching possible diagnostic tests for chronic fatigue/pain disorders for some years. The Bioscreen research team has recently found that there are different types of chronic fatigue/pain disorders, and that these illnesses are of a physical, organic nature.
The team is now also involved in designing treatment protocols and in making recommendations to treating doctors.
Associate Professor Roberts announced in October 1998 that the Bioscreen team "would be delighted to get samples from overseas."
What tests may be performed?A number of important tests may be performed on samples sent to the research
team. These tests could include the analysis of:1. Urinary metabolites.
2. Blood plasma lipids. (To determine essential and non-essential fatty acid
levels, and other lipid concentrations.)Other appropriate investigations may also be carried out.
